Here's a look at the best of what the silver screen has to offer in 2013.
Let’s start with the Sequels you all have been waiting for…
February: Die Hard Number 5—say what? That’s right folks. "Die Hard" is back with it’s fifth installment: “A Good Day to Die Hard,” and this time Bruce Willis’ character and son try to take down a nuclear bomb heist in Moscow.
March: G.I. Joe Retaliation. “G.I. Joe” is back and if it’s as good as the first movie—prepare for an action-packed "Avatar" meets "Rambo" with lots of twists, turns and sci-fi elements. Channing Tatum, The Rock, and Bruce Willis team up in this adventure.
May: The Hangover Part III, Iron Man 3, AND Star Trek: Into Darkness. Whoa… watch out!
June: Monsters University. In this prequel to “Monsters, Inc.” we take a peek at our favorite monsters Sulley and Mike in their college days.
July: Despicable Me 2. Steve Carrell returns as the voice to super-villan/genius gone good.
The Wolverine. Hugh Jackman continues his superhero quests in this “X-Men” spinoff.
August: 300: Rise of an Empire. This time it’s Greeks v. Persians.
October: Sin City: A Dame to Kill For. Stylish crime is the name of the game in this “Sin City” follow-up.
November: The Hunger Games: Catching Fire. Possibly the most-anticipated sequel of 2013, the second installment of “The Hunger Games” franchise hits theatres in November.
Thor: The Dark World. Chris Hemsworth goes solo in this superhero sequel.
December: Anchorman II. Will Ferrell, Steve Carrell and Paul Rudd are back in the newsroom. You stay classy San Diego.
The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug. Peter Jackson continues his second trilogy.
Newbies to Watch Out For
February: Identify Theif. Jason Bateman + Melissa McCarthy = comedy heaven.
April: Oblivion. Tom Cruise battles aliens (again) this time on a ravaged Earth.
March: Oz the Great and Powerful. This twist on the classic story shows how a wizard, played by James Franco, comes to the land of Oz.
May: The Great Gatsby. Need I say more? Leonardio DiCaprio, Tobey Maguire and Carey Mulligan star in this remake that is sure to be stellar.
June: Man of Steel. Superman is back, played by English hearthrob Henry Cavill.
The Internship: Dynamic duo Vince Vaughn and Owen Wilson battle it out for jobs at Google.
World War Z: Brad Pitt must wipe out Earth’s zombie outbreak.
July: The Lone Ranger. Johnny Depp is transformed into Tonto in this Old West flick.
August: Elysium. Matt Damon chases utopia in this much-anticipated futuristic film.
October: Captain Phillips. This true-life story features Tom Hanks as the Captain of a U.S. cargo ship hijacked by Somali pirates.
Carrie. She’s baaaaack. This re-make stars Chloe Grace Moretz and Julianne Moore.
December: Last Vegas. Hollywood legends Michael Douglas, Robert DeNiro, Morgan Freeman and Kevin Kline throw one last bachelor party in this good-time flick.
Returning to Theatres in 3D
February: Top Gun. This 1980s smash-hit will return to IMAX theatres in 3D.
April: Jurassic Park. If you thought the dinosaurs were life-like in the original version, wait ‘til it hits a 3D screen near you.
September: The Little Mermaid and Star Wars: Episode II—Attack of the Clones. Under the sea and in the stars looks better in 3D.
October: Star Wars: Episode III – Revenge of the Sith. Every Star War’s fans prayers have been answered.
