Another Brutal Sunday

(KMOV) --The Rams changed quarterbacks due to injury but the result didn't change. In fact, what played out Sunday at the Edward Jones Dome was all too familiar. Once again, the defense battles as long as it can before wearing down while the offense and special teams fail miserably.
Don't blame this one on Kellen Clemens. The Rams offensive problems run much deeper than one position. Lousy and inconstent officiating didn't help but the Rams can't use the guys in stripes as an excuse. This Rams team, albeit handicapped by injuries, is a bad football team. The 2-12 record doesn't lie. Neither does the 10-36 mark since the start of the 2009 season.
What's really hard to swallow is the overall improvement of the previously awful NFC West. The 49ers, Seahawks and Cardinals have all improved while the Rams have regressed. How can the flawed Seahawks and Cardinals be 7-7 and in the playoff chase while the Rams continue to flounder? If Pete Carroll and Ken Whisenhunt's teams can overcome injuries, why can't Steve Spagnuolo's team? Fair question.
A question I would think Stan Kroenke is asking as well. I'm not advocating the head coach's dismissal. But his team is the only one in the division that has regressed in 2011. If Spagnuolo does return there has to be a change in draft and free agent philosopy and coaching staff changes as well.
