The Rams have done what they had to do--keep Leonard Little around. Jim Thomas of the Post first reported that the team and Leonard have reached agreement to restructure his contract. The Rams had to have more cap room and they have to count on Little returning in '08. Yes, he had a terribly subpar year in '07 and he's a year older. So, yes, it's a bit of a gamble to hope that Little is worth the 6 million he'll count against the salary cap. But the Rams have no choice but to hope. They have too many holes to fill to let Little go. As it is, they had a paltry total of four sacks from defensive ends last season. Little represents their best chance to improve on that stat. Just like they have to believe Orlando Pace can bounce back from injuries, they have to count on Little. Even if both guys return to form, they still need a lot of contributions from other sources to get back into contention.
