Some quick thoughts about Sunday's game at Fed Ex Field:

When the Rams have the ball, the middle of the field will be shut off. The 100 million dollar man Albert Haynesworth and linebacker London Fletcher will make attacking the middle of the line of scrimmage difficult. I'd love to see Pat Shurmur go no huddle and have Marc Bulger spread the ball around the field on both sides in true "west coast offense" style. The Rams need to keep the Skins defense running and tire it out and then pound away with Steven Jackson in the fourth quarter.

The Redskins offense is not explosive. Clinton Portis has had just one run of 30 plus yards in three seasons but he is a workhorse and can chew up yards in methodical fashion. The big match up problem is with tight end Chris Cooley. He caught 83 passes last year and has more yards after the catch than any other tight end since 2004. And the Rams have trouble matching up with athletic tight ends as John Carlson showed us last week.

If the Rams clean up the penalty issues, it should be a competitive game.
