(KMOV) -- I didn’t go to Mizzou so I don’t have any ties there, but I still think Missouri got hosed not grabbing a number one seed; but don’t worry it will work to the Tiger’s benefit.

Boasting a (30-4) record and winning the Big 12 Tournament Mizzou certainly deserved a number-one seed, but being given a number-two seed and being placed in the West isn’t the worst thing in the world.  The Tigers have a great shot to make the Final Four.  They open up against 15th seeded Norfolk St., and then most likely will play a ten loss Florida team.  Mizzou will beat the Gators and probably tangle with third seeded Marquette.  The Golden Eagles are a good team so defeating them won’t be easy, but if Missouri can get passed them, a trip to the Final Four is likely.

Mizzou’s interior game isn’t outstanding but it’s good enough to help them get to the Final Four.  The Tigers’ guards are amazing though.  Kim English, Phil Pressey, Marcus Denmon, and Michael Dixon are four guys who can score at any time, and most importantly they can catch fire and go on scoring surges. But as great as they are, Denmon has shown he can go cold from time to time.  During the Big Dance you can’t afford one of your leading scorers to fall into a shooting slump.  I’m not saying Denmon must go 11 of 11 from the floor, but 4 for 20 can’t happen.

One of the few other concerns of mine is health.  This team isn’t deep, and if one player goes down, they might be in trouble. Lucky for Mizzou that hasn’t happened this season, (outside of English’s thigh issue the other night), but if someone does get hurt, how will they respond to the pressure of stepping up to fill the void?
