$2.38 a gallon may not sound like the cheapest gas in the world (and it's nowhere close to it) but according to AAA, right now it is the cheapest in the country and that is the average cost in the St. Louis area.

We checked a tip from an alert viewer and found it for $2.32 at the Conoco on Gravois in South St. Louis between Hampton and Loughborough.

Missouri is always among the cheapest states for gas because of lower taxes and from time to time St. Louis leads the list of cities.

I met a couple of women filling up for $2.36 downtown who aren't from around here.  They say they pay about 30-cents more a gallon in Kalamazoo, Michigan.  They came to see the Arch, etc and say they'll use up and buy as much gas as they can here before heading to the Grand Canyon on Route 66.

If you find cheaper gas, post it here!
