You hear about these stories from time to time and it seems more often than not, people come out okay.  That thankfully was the case early Friday morning in Ferguson.

Around 2 a.m. a car slammed into an apartment building at Adams and St. Louis avenues. That location happened to be Susan Sample's bedroom.

Her brothers came in and got her out and she was rushed to the hospital.

While I was standing in the parking lot talking to one of her brothers and reporting on this story, a woman got out of a truck and the brother said, "There she is."

Sample was home after being treated for some bumps, bruises and scratches.  She told me she feels blessed and that she could have been killed.  Had the car gone a few more feet inside it could have landed on her.

As for the driver, we don't know yet. One of Sample's brothers, Melvin Simmons told me the woman was out of her car apologizing and saying she wasn't drunk.  He told me police took her away.
