(KMOV) – The first 40 people who line up at The William J. Harrison Center at 3140 Cass Avenue, will get free tax help.  St. Louis Comptroller Darlene Green is hosting the free tax day event on Wednesday, March 7th from 5pm to 8pm.

Individuals can live in Missouri or Illinois to qualify, but must have made $50,000 or less in 2011.

For those unable to get free tax help today, the Gateway EITC Community Coalition is also hosting several free tax help events.  Residents in St. Louis City, St. Louis County, St. Charles or metro-east Illinois who made less than $50,000 in 2011 qualify.

For information on locations, contact United Way's 2-1-1 hotline or 1-800-427-4626.
