ST. LOUIS (KMOV) -- Verizon Wireless set up a temporary cell phone tower outside Busch stadium, hoping to boost network capacity for fans attending the Cardinals home opener on Friday.
Verizon says its temporary cell site, set up in a parking lot just east of the stadium, will increase capacity for voice and data.
News 4 contacted AT&T and a spokesperson said the phone company has made improvements inside Busch Stadium to handle cell capacity during all Cardinals home games.
The company declined to provide specific details, saying an announcement is planned for next week. AT&T says the infrastructure improvements are in place for Friday’s home opener.
