What a neat deal.  Target gave out almost a million dollars worth of gift cards to kids across the country so they could buy clothes and supplies for school.

In the St. Louis area, 210 kids went shopping with $80 gift cards in hand with the help of Salvation Army volunteers.  The Salvation Army zeroed in on the kids with the greatest need and helped Target distribute the gift cards.

I was in Brentwood this morning where 20 kids shopped along side not only volunteers to help them keep track and not go over the $80, but Fredbird and new Rams mascot, Rampage were along for the excursion.  It was great fun but the best part of it was knowing these kids will start school ready to go like the rest of their classmates.

They'll have the new shoes and clothes that make a young kid excited to go back to school... and they'll have the school supplies they need so they can do their assignments and won't fall behind in class just because their parent or parents don't have the money to buy all they need.
