A 26 year veteran of the St. Louis Police Department held a press conference today to talk about what he says is blatant racism on the force. Officer Eddie Simmons is also serves as the President of the Ethical Society of Police. At the press conference Simmons went through a list of complaints like officers have had bananas and monkeys left on their squad cars and ranking officers have been over heard making racist remarks at crime scenes. Simmons says that he came forward today as a last result. He told us for several weeks now he’s tried to get a hold of Police Chief Dan Isom to discuss some of these issues but nothing’s happened.
