(KMOV) -- St. Louis Mayor Francis Slay is asking for support of a man who has championed numerous causes and charities throughout the city.
Well-known community activist and religious leader Rev. Earl Nance Jr. suffered a severe heart attack just before Christmas. Now Mayor Slay is spearheading an effort to raise money for Nance Jr.'s long-term care. The 58-year-old pastor of Greater Mount Carmel Missionary Baptist Church has been active with the NAACP, Urban League of Heat-Up/Cool-Down St. Louis, and the Mathews-Dickey Boys' and Girls' Club, among many others.
If you'd like to donate, a fund has been set up at the First Bank on West Pine.
