(KMOV) -- Lindbergh High School's Spirit of St. Louis Marching Band is on its way to Pasadena, California.
They've got a busy week in store culminating with a two-hour, five-and-a-half mile march in the Rose Parade New Year's Day.
Before that, they'll help with getting floats ready and even perform at Disneyland. It will be an unforgetable week.
It's been a tough six months getting ready, building endurance in extreme heat and extreme cold and getting their routines down.
The band also learned its band director, Bob Spiegelman has cancer. The kids are inspired by his dedication. He says he's inspired by the kids and being apart of getting ready for and going to the Rose Parade (for Bob, the second time with a Lindbergh High marching band) has been the perfect distraction from his cancer and cancer treatment.
I'm told HGTV will run the Rose Parade from start to finish without commercials starting at 10am St. Louis time if you want to check out our local kids representing our area.
