Fifteen days ago I did the heartbreaking story on a two-year old girl severely beaten allegedly by her mother's boyfriend.
I interviewed her father who lives in Kentucky who talked about how hard it was to see his little girl hooked up to a dozen machines in the hospital when she should be watching Sesame Street.
Today, Amanda Runyon was released from Cardinal Glennon Children's Medical Center. Wow!
Her mother's boyfriend is in jail charged with the abuse.
The girl's father, Eddie said he'll be taking her back to western Kentucky to raise her.
She suffered a broken leg, damaged liver and had to have more than a foot of her intestines removed, but doctors say she's going to be fine physically. Her dad says he's thrilled with her progress but had little to say about the man accused of doing this to her. Eddie says he's really just focused on his daughter now. The first thing he wants to do when she gets her cast off is teach her to roller skate.
