The staff at Shriners Hospital for Children in St. Louis is now caring for an 11 year old Haitian boy with a severe leg injury. The house Jean Patrickson shared with his family in Porta Prince, Haiti collapsed on top of him during the January 12th earthquake. The hope is that doctors with the Shriners Hospital for Children will be able to repair his leg. Jean flew to St. Louis with his 20 year old cousin. The group Healing the Children worked tirelessly for close to a month to get Jean to St. Louis. Now that they are here, the Missouri Chapter Executive Director tells me that she’s working to meet the boys needs. Right now they need phone cards to call home and other odds and ends to make their stay more comfortable. Jean is expected to be in St. Louis for at least 6 months.
