(KMOV)-- Tuesday morning I had the sad task of reporting on a deadly fire at a home in Fairview Heights.  After my reports, the family arrived and visited with me briefly.  The mom told me her son was 32-year old Cliff Stockton.

Later in the afternoon someone emailed us that we'd reported on Cliff Stockton before.  He was the truck driver who recognized a license plate on an Amber Alert and helped reunite a kidnapped child with her mother.

That happy story sounded familiar.  It should have.  I'm the one who interviewed Cliff about it on February 18, 2009.

Check out the attached news report.

As we were about to leave the deadly fire scene, a guy who knew Cliff showed up and told me what a good guy he was.  I interviewed him and we put that on TV.

It was hours later before I realized the incredible deed Cliff had done two and a half years ago.

He deserves to be remembered for that.
