(KMOV) - Police say 42 year old Mario Rowell was lying in the middle of Riverview Drive when he was hit. His daughter Veronica thinks much more happened.
She says, "my aunt called between 2 and 2:30 and she doesn't call me that time of night so I knew it was something. When I answered the phone I broke down."
Police say Rowell was lying in the middle of street when the driver of a semi truck hit him. They say he stood up just before he was hit but the driver couldnt stop in time.
According to the victims daughter, her fathers girlfriend called his cell phone minutes after the accident and a witness answered.
She says, "all we're really asking is if the witness can come forward and just let us know who you are or what you saw. I know my father and while he would do some things...he would never lay in the street when there's oncoming traffic."
Police say they aren't aware of this apparent witness. While they are talking to people, they have no evidence he was hit more than once.
Accident reconstruction has taken over the investigation but it could be several months until it's complete.
