Webster Groves superintendent Dr. Sarah Booth Riss is in the first year of a three year contract that will pay her a salary of $166,400 during the 2010-11 school year. Her contract guarantees that she "shall not be paid less than $173,000" next year, a $7,000 pay hike. She's also guaranteed a $7,000 pay raise in the third year of her contract. Dr. Riss receives a "transportation allowance" of $8,000 a year. She has a $250,000 term life policy paid for by the district. Dr. Riss also receives health and dental insurance for her and her dependant children paid for by the district, although her contract doesn't reveal if she must help pay for it. No section of the contract discusses her retirement benefits, although the state requires the district to contribute to her pension.
