The one year contract of Dr. Todd Koehl pays him a salary of $137,000 a year. The Board could agree to extend his contract up to five years as soon as next February. Dr. Koehl, who served as Assistant Superintendent last year, doesn't appear to have any unusual benefits compared to other Superintendents. In fact, he earns $28,000 a year less in salary than his predecessor. Dr. Koehl also makes significantly less than Dr. Darcy Benway, the Superintendent at O'Fallon Township High School 203 District. Benway makes about $210,000 in salary and benefits overseeing one high school. Koehl is in charge of eight schools and has 3,500 students, one-thousand more than the high school enrollment. Since all of District 203's students live within the boundaries of the high school district, both superintendents are working with many of the same issues, often with the same families.
