JCI Metro is a community of young active citizens ages 18-40 in the St. Louis Metropolitan area, who seek targeted, sustainable solutions to community problems. We share the belief that in order to create positive change, we must take collective action to improve ourselves and the community around us. JCI Metro is a local chapter founded in 2006 affiliated to the United States Junior Chamber (US Jaycees) and Junior Chamber International.

We just recently hosted a course, JCI CSR, for Small Business Week of Eastern Missouri. This course was developed through JCI's international partnership with UN Global Compact, a global corporate citizenship initiative. JCI Metro ran the St. Louis Socially Responsible Business Forum and Competition last year to promote the concept that business can have a positive impact on the economy, humanity and the environment. In addition to corporate social responsibility, JCI works in a variety of issues, including topics related to the UN Millennium Development Goals. In St. Louis in 2010 our chapter is working on initiatives to promote solar power in Missouri, raise funds to combat malaria in Africa, and more.

JCI Metro recently held a party at Luna Lounge of Bar Italia to raise funds for JCI Nothing But Nets, a global campaign to fight malaria in Africa.

You can read more about JCI Metro at www.jci.cc/local/metro and more about the international organization at www.jci.cc. Follow us on twitter at www.twitter.com/jcimetro and you may email us at jcimetro@gmail.com. Our next general membership meeting is on June 8 at 6pm at JCI World Headquarters, 15645 Olive, 63017. All of our meetings are open to the public.
