COC members volunteer and attend CID's fundraiser, The Ultimate Picnic
The Corporate Outreach Committee (COC) is a group of young professionals who help raise awareness and support for Central Institute for the Deaf (CID). In turn, CID provides the opportunity for them to develop their philanthropic vision, to connect with others and a cause that has personal resonance, and to lend their expertise to the growth and future of CID. Committee members can read to the kids as a Book Buddy, participate in happy hours, organize and plan the annual Trivia Night and assist with other school events. The COC is looking for new members! If you are interested or want to learn more contact Bree DeGraw: 314/977-0163 or firstname.lastname@example.org.

Central Institute for the Deaf teaches children who are deaf and hard of hearing to listen, talk, read and succeed without the use of sign language. CID partners with families and collaborates with universities, educators and other professionals worldwide to help children communicate to achieve their full potential. With ongoing support from the St. Louis community, CID teachers prepare children to succeed socially and academically in their neighborhood schools. CID is also a leading training ground for teachers of the deaf and has been the source of scientific and educational advances benefiting deaf people worldwide.
On May 2, 2009, CID will host its 15th annual Ultimate Picnic. The elegant cruise theme will feature cocktails, dinner, music and auctions to benefit deaf children learning to listen and talk. CID now offers $75 tickets for young professionals (35 and under). Individual tickets are $150. This event raises more than $200,000 and has an indelible impact upon CID's ability to educate and transform the lives of deaf children. For information or tickets, contact Bree DeGraw: 314/977-0163 or email@example.com.
