Severe Weather For Sunday?

Sunday for the most part should be a beautiful day! There is a slight chance we could see a stray shower or storm move through before lunchtime as a warm front lifts through the area. But behind that front the temperatures will soar! We’ll see plenty of sunshine and temps near 80 degrees Sunday afternoon…that’s about 20 degrees above normal. The winds will dramatically increase behind the front too.   There is a wind advisory in effect all day as winds will be southerly about 25-35 mph, and gusts could be as high as 40-50mph.

A strong cold front will near the area Sunday night. As of now, it looks like the severe weather threat will be during the overnight hours. I’m talking roughly between midnight and daybreak. Large hail and damaging winds will be the main threat, but isolated tornadoes are not out of the question.  You know we’ll be on top of it so keep it on News 4, KMOV.com and make sure you have the KMOV app downloaded on your smartphone!
