A confirmed tornado hit Troy, IL Sunday night with max estimated winds at 120 mph. It is rated an EF2 (on a scale where EF0= weakest and EF5= strongest tornado). The worst damage was a roof ripped from a house and thrown 50 yards.
The 2nd confirmed tornado hit Granite City, IL Sunday night with estimated max winds at 105 mph making it an EF1 tornado. Many homes and businesses had damage, especially roof damage. The twister touched down near IL route 3 and Rock Rd. then moved 3 miles East before lifting near Maryville Rd. Trees were snapped and uprooted as well.
More confirmations may come soon as the team is still looking over damage across the area.
This tornado was spawned from a squall line moving 70mph through the St. Louis metro and had earlier produced a microburst with winds up to 100 mph in Wildwood, Richmond Heights and Washington Missouri.

Also, keep an eye out for storms Saturday morning during Mardi Gras. A severe storm looks possible, but even if it's not severe there may be lightning, wind and heavy rain to contend with before and during the Parade.
