(KMOV)- Tuesday night's episode of American Idol was down to the top 5. They had to sing songs from The Rat Pack. The Rat Pack featured Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin, Sammy Davis, Jr., Peter Lawford and Joey Bishop. They appeared together on stage and in films in the early 1960s. Jamie Foxx (Oscar winning actor, singer, pianist, you name) was the mentor this week.
Kris Allen started the night off by singing "The Way You Look Tonight." I love this song, so I was interested on how this would turn out. I thought he sounded great. He turned a classic into his own. He also looked very nice dressed up in his suit. Scrumptious!
Up next was Allison Iraheta. She sang "Someone To Watch Over Me." I thought she did a great job. I didn't care too much for her before, but she definitely grew on me tonight. She sings way beyond her years!
Matt Giraud sang "My Funny Valentine." To me it seemed like he was trying way too hard. I thought I was being too harsh, but the judges agreed. It just wasn't as good as the first two.
Danny Gokey was up next. He sang "Come Rain or Come Shine." Danny is one of my personal favorites. I thought it was just okay at first. But towards the end he really got into it and started singing his heart out. He sounded great.
They saved the best for last. Adam Lambert sounded so good I didn't catch the name of his song!! It was something about fever. He always has a big performance. I always feel like I'm watching some type of musical.
Overall I think Kris and Adam did the best. I think that it will be between Allison and Matt who get kicked off tomorrow. In the end I think it will be Matt. We'll see! Post your comments below and let me know what you think!
