ST. LOUIS, Mo. (KMOV.com) – KMOV-TV General Manager Mark Pimentel was presented with the Community Spirit Honors award for leadership in the annual Hardee’s Rise and Shine project.

Heat Up St. Louis, Inc. (Cool Down St. Louis), a regional not-for-profit organization presented the award on Thursday at the Jewel Box in Forest Park.

KMOV was recognized for leadership in broadcasting news support in an effort to educate and encourage the general public to recognize that being without a home heating or cooling source can be a dangerous impact on the region’s health and public safety.

In attendance at the presentation were Reverend Earl Nance, Jr., St. Louis City Mayor Francis Slay, County Executive Charlie Dooley, Missouri Lt. Governor Peter Kinder, Chairman and CEO of Ameren Corp. Tom Voss, Hardees representatives and Robin LeVan of Vatterott College.
