Diversity Awareness Partnership

The Diversity Awareness Partnership (DAP) is dedicated to promoting the value of diversity in the St. Louis region through collaborative community and school-based education and awareness efforts. Themed " Make a Difference by Accepting Everyone Else's ," the DAP is a replicable model for communities across the nation in advancing acceptance of diversity. From area schools and universities to all three of St. Louis' major sports teams to corporate partners, DAP partners include organizations and individuals representing many sectors of our community.

Efforts of the Diversity Awareness Partnership include:

• The Give Respect – Get Respect Youth Program – a year-long youth program that annually connects students and teachers from 24 middle schools from throughout the bi-state region in an effort to address the diversity in today's schools and encourage respect and acceptance among students.

The We're All Alike, We're All Different Disability Awareness Tool Kit for Elementary Schools – provides students with an opportunity to gain a greater understanding and appreciation for people of all abilities, offering a valuable learning experience that can be applied in the school environment and everyday life.

• One Community, Many Faiths - calls attention to the many faiths represented in our community and provides a learning opportunity for people of all faiths.

KMOV Channel 4 is proud to be a major partner in the Diversity Awareness Partnership and has produced several messages to increase awareness of the value that diversity brings to our community. In addition, KMOV has committed to airing news stories about local diversity initiatives.
